More about Camylle's knee.

I found out my knee injury was my ACL ligament detaching at both ends and is now a shriveled mess of fiber in the center of my knee.

Sick, huh?

So the doc recommends therapy for a few months, then surgery, then recovery and more therapy for 9 months!!! That's about a year of no sports. No soccer for the High School team. No track this year!!! My next sport would have to be track or softball (depending on which one I pick) for our High School team.
I will be on crutches for 2 months after surgery!!! I can't play any contact sports. (That includes dodgeball.) I thankfully can do crunches and push-ups, but no running. I can't even run laps to stay in shape. I'm really mad and I need to vent here because if I don't, I'm gonna get really angry and throw something at the wall. After surgery, though, it's NO running, no walking without crutches, for 2 months!!!

I hope I don't turn into a wrinkly old lady with knee problems who has her grandkids fetch her the newspaper for her

Camylle's Injuries.

On our away game to Coupeville, I was dribbling and then my knee unexpectedly buckled. Don't ask me why, don't ask me how, but it did. I had two nasty swollen bumps on the back of my left knee and one on the front. So I went to the doctor and she recomended me to a specialist who had an MRI done on my knee. It turns out I tore a ligament, so my doctor said that I shouldnt play any sports until it heals. My knee feels fine until I move it into any bent positon less than 80 degrees. Basketball requires a lot of knee strenght, so I had to quit. I'm pretty angry. So what if I didn't make Varsity because I did pretty good for my first year ever of basketball. I can at least pride myself that I was the fastest girl on the team, including the Varsity girls. Most of the girls on my team have played 3 years of bball, so you have to hand it to me. I didn't do too bad. I think it takes a year of a sport to make it "click" and once it "clicks" I'd have it down.
But the main reson i did basketball was to stay in shape for track season. I just hope my knee heals by then.

January -- Whatever day it is!

This is what's been going on in our life these days.
Neal is playing Bball for his local boys and girls club. Camylle finished her second season of soccer for her Middle School's Varsity team, and received Coaches award. She is playing basketball for her school team, and is not yet sure what team she'll make. Camylle has so far received two 4.0 for the first half of the school year. Neal has received a 3.9.
